Why we built Tax Alpha.

It started in a real practice.

Tax Alpha began inside a working tax practice. After years in advisory, we set out to open our own firm and went looking for software to run the planning at the center of it. Everything we found came up short.

Every tool fell short.

Some modeled well and produced terrible proposals. Others produced good proposals but the software couldn't handle anything beyond a 1040. The new wave of AI tools brought their own problem: many were useless because you cannot upload a client's PII into them, and others were simply noncompliant. It felt like the whole industry was lagging behind the AI boom. For a practice that cared about getting the details right and delivering plans for their sophisticated clients, nothing did the job.

So we built Tax Alpha.

We built the tool we wished existed: rigorous modeling and clean, client-ready proposals in one place, at a price a real practice could justify. We built it for our business owner clients first, where complex strategies are needed the most. It had to hold up to complex returns and stand behind every number.
